2 batches of Tripura students safely return home from Manipur, guardians thank CM

Agartala, May 07: A sigh of relief prevailed after as two special flights carrying around 208 students of the Tripura, who were stranded in trouble-torn Manipur, landed at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala in the past 24 hours following prompt efforts of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
Dr. Manik Saha-led Tripura government took swift action to evacuate the stranded students of Tripura from Manipur and three special flights were arranged. Hours after the decision was announced by Dr Saha on Saturday, the first batch of students arrived in Agartala.
Minister for Transport Sushanta Chowdhury along with state BJP leaders- Amit Rakshit and Papia Dutta welcomed the students and other citizens at the airport and interacted with them.
In a social media post, Chowdhury thanked the Chief Minister of Tripura, who made it possible for the stranded individuals to return home safely.
Most of the returnees were medical students studying at the Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Imphal, Manipur. The students expressed their relief and gratitude to the state government for arranging their evacuation so promptly.
Many worried guardians who had gathered at the airport to receive their children also thanked the state government and the Chief Minister for the prompt action.
A team of Tripura government officers were deputed in Imphal to oversee the safe evacuation of the students and to arrange local support for their safe travels back to their home state.
