Kailashahar, Jul 12: Unakoti district recorded seven fresh covid infections in the last 24 hours as of Tuesday morning amidst an upward trend of new infections in the state. Total 112 positive cases were recorded in Tripura during the last 24 hours.

It appears that the number of positive cases will increase if the testing process is strengthened and people go for testing.

Newly infected patients were given medication and advised to stay in home quarantine.

Unakoti District Surveillance Officer Dr Sankha Subhra Debnath, however, said that patients get angry when asked to test for Covid. He also alleged that the patients sometimes misbehave with on-duty medical staff on this issue.

Although new Covid infections are on an upward trend, people Unakoti district are rarely seen wearing masks as a precaution.

Dr Debnath urged people to wear masks and cooperate with health personnel conducting tests.
