Agartala, Feb 04: Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura Kiran Gitte on Saturday said that commissioning of EVMs would start from February 6 next.
Addressing the media, he said, printing and distribution of over 1.5 lakh ballot papers has been completed while commissioning of EVMs would begin from February 6.
The CEO said, Chief Election Commissioner would hold a virtual meeting with the Chief Secretaries and Police Chiefs of Tripura, Mizoram and Assam on February 9.
He said, since announcement of the election, cash and various contraband items worth over Rs. 29 crore have been seized.
The CEO also talked about the permanent construction of Ramp in more than 500 polling stations, women and youth managed polling stations and other issues for ensuing Assembly Elections.
He said, 88 model polling stations, 97 all-women polling stations, 33 youth managed and 28 PwD-managed polling stations would be set up in sixty constituencies. In the model polling stations, the state's tradition and culture along with important tourist locations would be highlighted.
He also said that the Election Commision of India approved 12 documents for the voters who don't have photo identity card.
The Chief Electoral Officer said, the security has been strengthened across the state for the assembly elections scheduled on February 16 next. The results would be declared on March 02.
