Agartala, Apr 01.Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Tuesday informed the state assembly that the state government had been contemplating to adopt recommendations of the eighth pay commission.
The Finance Minister further clarified that on January 17; the Government of India announced its decision to implement the revised pay matrix recommended by the eighth central pay commission. “No state government of the state has so far made any announcements to adopt the eighth central pay commission. We are also interested in adopting the recommendations but the decision will be taken at the right time,” the Finance Minister said.
The Minister was speaking in response to a starred question submitted by Congress MLA Gopal Chandra Roy. Replying to a supplementary query of Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, Singh Roy said, “The state government submitted a comprehensive report of the state financial condition to the Sixteenth Finance Commission. The Finance Commission officials had appreciated the state for efficient financial management despite being a revenue deficit state.”
Describing the DA/DR hike as an achievement, Singha Roy said, “The state government has recently raised the Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for the state government employees and pensioners. We are working hard to ensure that the gap of DA between the central and state government employees could be bridged further.”
Meanwhile, replying to a calling attention notice mover by Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, the Finance Minister further stated that his department had in the last two financial years given approval for creation of as many as 6,009 posts and filling up of 12,338 posts in underway.
“The process of filling up the posts is expected to end soon,” the Minister hoped.
He also further stated that in between the fiscal years 2018-2019 and 2024-2025, 31,056 posts fell vacant due to the retirement of government employees on superannuation.
“Among them, 6,779 were Group-D posts, while the remaining were Group-A, Group-B, and Group-C vacancies. A total of 17,554 posts including the Die-in-harness vacancies had been filled up by this government. As many as 1,540 people got permanent jobs under the die-in-harness scheme,” he added.
According to the Minister, 200 Junior Engineer (Degree) posts will be filled up by TPSC. The interview results have already been published. Additionally, Recruitment for 200 Junior Engineer (Diploma) posts is in process through TPSC. The written examination for recruitment of 224 Medical Officers has been conducted by TPSC. The Finance Department has also approved the recruitment of 136 Agriculture Officers, 16 Super Specialist Doctors, and 172 Specialist Doctors. Apart from that, approval has been granted for the recruitment of 400 Assistant Professors, 218 Sub-Inspectors, 433 Agriculture Assistants, 125 Amins, and 28 Forest Rangers.
