Agartala Oct 30: Addressing the nation in his 94th episode of “Mann Ki Baat” Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people across the Country on the pious occasion of “Chhath” festival.
He said, “The tradition of worshiping the Sun is a proof of how deep our culture, our faith, is related to nature. Through this puja the importance of sunlight in our life has been illustrated”.
Tripura has been lauded by the Prime Minister for having the first modified bio-village in the country with the use of eco-friendly technology and assembling livestock, agri and agri-allied, aqua support and maximum use of non-renewable sources of energy.
In a proud moment for Tripura, PM Narendra Modi in his speech said, “Some villages of Tripura have also set very good examples. You must have heard about Bio-Village, but some villages of Tripura have ascended to the level of Bio-Village 2. Bio-Village 2 emphasizes how to minimize the damage caused by natural disasters. In this, full attention is given to improve the quality of life of the people through various measures. There is complete focus on Solar Energy, Biogas, Bee Keeping and Bio Fertilizers. Overall, Bio-Village 2 is going to lend a lot of strength to the campaign against climate change”.
“A few days ago, in India, Mission Life dedicated to protect the environment has also been launched. The simple principle of Mission Life is – Promote such a lifestyle, which does not harm the environment. I urge you to also know Mission Life and try to adopt it”, he added.
Notably, Das Para village in Sepahijala district- a hamlet of 64 families solely depend on agriculture and fishery has been converted to a nature-based lifestyle and livelihood and reduced the use of chemical fertilizers.
This is one of the five successful bio-village 2.0 conceptualized in Tripura after the BJP-led government came to power and adopted the climate change mitigation endeavor of PM Narendra Modi.
Besides, Borkurbari under Charilam assembly constituency is another successful bio-village with a population of around 40 families.
These bio-villages 2.0 have incorporated some other components like the use of renewable energy along with practices of organic farming.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Bio-villages in Tripura stressing that Bio-Village 2.0 is going to lend a lot of strength to the campaign against climate change.
