Aadhar linking with voter cards underway in West Tripura: DM

Agartala, Aug 08: As per the direction of the Election Commission of India, the linking of Aadhar with voter cards through revised Form-6 has started in West Tripura district.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, District Magistrate West Tripura Debapriya Bardhan said, if any voter fails to link Aadhar with voter card, his/ her name would not be removed from the electoral rolls.
He said, the new initiative is aimed at ensuring transparent electoral rolls.
According to the District Magistrate, there is change in the process for enrolment of new voters; now the voters would have opportunity to enrol their names- the qualifying dates are January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1.
He said the, new voters have to apply for enrolment only through revised form-6. Besides, application can also be made for changing address from one to another constituency through this revised form-6.
The application form-7 for inclusion or deletion of name has also been revised; the form-8 has also been revised. This form would enable the voters for change in address and other matters, the District Magistrate told the media.
