Agartala, April 28: Soon after the completion of the two phases of the Lok Sabha election, the Congress candidate Ashish Kumar Saha, who contested under the banner of I.N.D.I.A bloc on Sunday claimed that a large section of Adivasi voters of Tripura had casted their vote in favor of the Congress party.

The Pradesh congress president Ashish Kumar Saha on Sunday chaired a meeting with the party’s ST-department here at Agartala Congress Bhavan. He said that the Adivasi congress activists had played a significant role in strengthening the organization.

“We believe that further contribution of the Adivasis will enhance the functioning of the Congress party,” he said, adding that the meeting with the Adivasis of the party’s ST department is to build a roadmap to further strengthen the Congress party.

He said that the meeting is being held with the tribal leaderships and representatives, who joined the congress party by quitting several other organisations before the election.
