Agartala, July 1: The movement against the Agneepath schemeis gaining momentum. Unemployed youths as well as various political organizations have taken to the field to demand cancellation of the project. Friday, on behalf of AIDYO protest demonstration was staged at the capital city’s Battala area with 5 charter point demands. Addressing the reporters, AIDYO state president Bhabatosh Dey expressed outrage against the central government. He said, “The central government has started playing tricks with the unemployed. When the BJP-led government was formed at the Center, the country's youth were promised two crore jobs a year. Similarly, the government was established in the state with a promise to provide 50,000 jobs in the 1^st year”. He alleged the ruling government has failed to fulfill the promises made to the unemployed youths of the state. “Instead, the government is pushing the lives of unemployed youth towards uncertainty by bringing anti-unemployment projects like Agneepath. The AIDYO demanded the govt. to immediately cancel this project and ensure that all the vacancies in all state and central departments be filled.
