Agartala, Nov 01: The Health department has taken an initiative to open pharmacy in all government hospitals including GBP and IGM hospitals soon, an official said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference on Health department’s major achievements and initiatives, secretary Dr. Debashis Basu said, the initiative for opening pharmacies in the hospitals would benefit the patients to a great extent. Medicines would be available in such pharmacy shops at minimal cost, he said.
According to Dr. Basu, the Health department is sincerely working to ensure best delivery of healthcare service even in the remotest parts of the state.
He said, 6 state-level hospitals, 6 district-level hospitals, 14 sub-divisional hospitals, 21 community health centres, 118 primary health centres, 999 sub-health centres, 14 blood banks (2 government-run and 2 private), 6 blood component separation units (4 government-run and 3 private), and seven blood storage centres are functioning in the state.
The Health secretary also said, installation of CCTVs and a new CT Scan machine is underway in AGMC and GBP hospital.
Health director Dr. Subhasis Debbarma and director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine department- Dr. Biprajit Debbarma also spoke in the press conference. They elaborated various steps taken by the respective departments for development of healthcare. Two other officials of the Health department were also present.
An official report of the Health department said, Ayushman Bharat scheme covers around 14 lakh people in the state (as per field survey). Among them, 12.96 lakh beneficiaries (93 per cent) have already been issued Ayushman cards from September 23, 2021 to October 28, 2022. The remaining 97,000 beneficiaries would get the Ayushman cards soon.
