Sabroom, Dec 26: Allegations of corruption have surfaced against Manohar Das, Agriculture Supervisor of Sabroom subdivision, accusing him of siphoning off PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi funds since 2019. Residents of Bijoynagar Panchayat, including complainant Sushil Chandra Das, revealed that Das registered his mother, Kanan Bala Das, as a farmer to fraudulently claim benefits under the scheme. 

Allegedly, Das manipulated official records and diverted funds using his position.

Locals also claimed that he misused resources like power tillers and spray machines, tarnishing the government’s aim to double farmers’ income. 

It was also alleged that despite repeated accusations, Das has avoided accountability over the past two decades. Authorities were urged to take strict action against such malpractices to uphold transparency and justice.
