Agartala April 09: Urging the people of Tripura to vote for Amra Bangali Party candidates in both the Parliamentary Constituencies in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Amra Bangali, Tripura State Committee on Tuesday released its poll manifesto in a press conference.
“Let’s ensure the victory of Amra Bangali Party candidates to voice against the propaganda of ruling BJP that wants to alienate Bengalis on the pretext of NRC and CAA, to demand the status of Bengali language as a classical language and to build ‘Bangalistan’ as per Article 3 of the Indian Constitution”, said Amra Bangali State Secretary Gouranga Rudra Pal.
Addressing reporters, Pal said, “Along with the rest of the country, Lok Sabha elections will also be held in Tripura on April 19, 1st phase and on April 26, 2nd phase. In both the seats, Amra Bangali Party is contesting the polls and has put up Gauri Sankar Nandi in the West Lok Sabha seat and Archana Urang in the East Tripura seat”.
The state secretary of the party urged the voters to press ‘Boat symbol’ and cast their votes in favour of the Amra Bangali Party.
Castigating the alliance of BJP with TIPRA Motha, he said, “With alliance between the TIPRA Motha and BJP the TIPRA Motha has put up their candidate in the East seat. What is most surprising is that the TIPRA Motha candidate is campaigning with BJPs Lotus symbol”.
“We are not aware what BJP will gain if Motha’s candidate wins from the seat but it is worth mentioning that it will be a big blow to the Bengalis, their rights and existence. Because, it is the Motha whose political ideology is 'Puila Jati-Ulu Party' and slogan is "Go Back Bangladeshi”, he added.
Mentioning few of the promises enlisted by the party in its poll manifesto Gauranga Rudra Pal said, “Immediate action will be taken against the propaganda of alienating Bengalis through NRC and CAA, Bengali will be given the recognition of classical language and a medium of education from primary to university level, Bengali language will be introduced in Railway, air services, banks, post offices, corts etc. recognition will be provided to Bengali regiments. Besides, as a permanent solution to the problems that people of Bengali community are facing, a self-sufficient socio-economic region ‘Bangalistan’ will be formed according to Article 3 of Constitution”.
The Amra Bangali also ensured to ‘build a prosperous Tripura including strengthening the unity of caste and tribe in the state’.
