Belonia, April 02: Tripura Pradesh Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha visited Belonia on Wednesday as part of his efforts to strengthen the party’s organizational structure in South Tripura district's Santirbazar, Belonia, and Rajnagar.
During an interaction with the media at the Belonia Congress Bhavan, Saha stated that his visit aimed to discuss organizational matters with the leadership of three assembly constituencies.
He highlighted the key takeaways from a meeting held on March 27 at the All India Congress headquarters in Delhi, where 364 state presidents participated. The meeting focused on restructuring the party from the state level to booth committees. Major decisions included the reformation of Pradesh Congress, the establishment of Mandal and Booth Committees, and the appointment of Booth Level Agents (BLA).
Additionally, the Congress has launched a two-month-long 'Booth Chalo' campaign across various blocks, aiming for extensive grassroots engagement. The campaign will soon be intensified in Santirbazar, Belonia, and Rajnagar.
Saha also informed the media that the 25th Plenary Session is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on April 8-9.
He emphasized the Congress party’s commitment to acting as a responsible opposition by actively addressing issues related to education, healthcare, and corruption in the state.
The organizational meeting at Belonia Congress Bhavan was attended by South Tripura Block Congress president Mridul Patari, South District Youth Congress president Ajitabh Majumdar, Block Congress president Debashish Majumdar, and other local party leaders.
