Agartala, Apr 30: Ashvini Netralaya, established in Agartala, Tripura in 2023 under the leadership of Dr. Anurag Majumdar, has been consistently providing quality superspeciality eye care in the field of Cataract, Glaucoma, Retina and Paediatric Ophthalmology.

Ashvini Netralaya recently started regular daycare surgeries, mostly Topical (without injection) Phaco for Cataract and created history in Tripura by performing the first-ever batch of successful Retina Surgeries for patients suffering from conditions like Vitreous Haemorrhage, and Retinal Detachment.

These Retina surgeries were performed by Dr. Kaushick Biswas, Consultant Vitreo-Retinal surgeon (Fellowship in Vitreo-retinal Surgery from Munich, Germany), using Constellation Vision System from Alcon (USA).

 All the patients are currently doing very well and have been advised to be under regular follow-up.
 
Prior to this, patients suffering from Retina and Glaucoma disorders had to be referred to eye hospitals outside the state for treatment, thus creating a huge economic as well as mental burden for the patients as well as their families.
 
Specialized surgeries like Topical Phacosurgery, Glaucoma surgery, Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery, laser treatment for glaucoma and Vitreoretinal Surgeries can all be performed under one roof at Tripura’s First dedicated Superspeciality Eye Care Centre, Ashvini Netralaya at Agartala, at one third the cost of treatment at hospitals outside the state.
