Agartala March 12: Pressing for immediate completion of recruitment process to fill up vacant posts of fireman and drivers in the State Fire and Emergency Department, job aspirants staged a protest demonstration on Wednesday in front of the Directorate of Fire Service, Agartala.
Noting that they have been staging similar demonstrations for a long time, the aspirants strongly voiced for prompt scheduling of viva tests for the recruitment of firemen and drivers, without any further delays.
The agitating aspirants while speaking to the reporters said, “We sat for the physical tests previous year and later took the written test for recruitment into firemen and driver jobs on January 8, 2023”.
“But a long time has passed since then that the department failed to materialize the employment opportunity”, he added.
Raising their voice against the prolonged delay, the youth expressed their disappointment that despite their qualifications and dedication, the job offers have not been released yet.
“In our neighbouring state of Assam, candidates are already doing jobs after completion of recruitment process but our government is not taking any such action”, said one of the job aspirants.
The agitators also expressed dissatisfaction for not being able to meet the Minister of State Fire and Emergency Service Department even after repeated requests for the same.
As the issue of recruitment remains unsolved, the aspirants demanded the chief minister to take immediate action and release the long-awaited jobs, providing much-needed relief to the unemployed youth.
