Churaibari, Dec 30: In a span of 24 hours of the first such tragic incident, another labour died on Monday while cutting a tree in Dharmanagar subdivision in North Tripura district.

The incident took place on Monday noon hours after the Assam labour identified as Kuti Malakar was cutting a tree in a jungle at Uttar Hurua area. The work of clearing the jungle was undergoing for the last 10 days.

While cutting a tree in the jungle on Monday noon hours, a giant branch of the tree hit his face, following which Kuti Malakar started bleeding and fell from the tree. Alarmed by the incident, his accompanying labourers under the tree called the fire engine crews. The fire engine crews rushed to the spot and took the unconscious labour to Dharmanagar hospital, where the attending doctors declared him brought dead.

Police later reached the hospital and registered a case of unnatural death. Police informed that the body will be handed over soon after the family members of the deceased labour reach the hospital.

On Sunday last, another worker died after being crushed under a tree while cutting trees in the Pekuchhara area of Panisagar.
