Agartala, Aug 30: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) ‘Bachar Bachao’ initiative has gained momentum with improved pass percentage among the board candidates.
Addressing a press conference here at the board office on Friday, the TBSE secretary Dr Dulal Dey said that the pass rate has surged to 93.19% in Madhyamik BB examination and 92.46% in Higher Secondary BB examination.
He said that this year at least 2,764 students appeared for the ‘Bachar Bachao’ examination for secondary education, out of which, 1,888 students passed the examination, surging the total pass percentage for Madhyamik examination to 93.19%. Initially before the BB examination, the pass percentage was 87.59% with a total 29,555 candidates passing the examination.
In higher secondary education, 3,817 students out of 4236 appeared for the ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam, where a total 3,345 had passed the examination taking the total figures of the passed candidates in HS examination to 23,441. Initially, out of 25,350 candidates, 20,096 students passed the final exams and the pass percentage was 79.27%. The ‘Bachar Bachao’ exam contributed to a substantial rise in the pass rate, bringing it up to 92.46%, he told reporters.
The Board Secretary also added that all activities related to the 2024 board examinations have been successfully completed, and preparations for the 2025 exams will commence on September 2.
On the other hand, the TBSE on Friday mandated enrolment registration for admission of the other board candidates to TBSE. Board secretary Dr Dulal Dey said that the Madhyamik candidates of other board, who are willing to shift to TBSE for pursuing Higher Secondary, must obtain permission from the TBSE and get their enrolment registered with the board. He said that some schools were reported to have completed such admission without obtaining permission and enrolment registration of the candidates. For those candidates, enrolment registration is mandatory or else they will not be able to sit for the higher secondary board examination of the TBSE, he added.
