Bangladeshi tourist lands at Police Station after being subjected to harassment

Agartala Nov 02: Bangladeshi tourist alleged terrible experience in Tripura after his car was stopped on road, vandalized and money was demanded by a group of unruly youths under Bishalgarh police station area.
According to details, MD Tariqul Islam, a Bangladeshi national arrived Tripura through Srimantapur check post on Wednesday morning to his relatives residence at Sonamura area.
Later, he went out to visit a few places in Agartala with his nephew Mohammad Akash and other friends.
On the way back to Sonamura, his car was allegedly intercepted by a group of unruly local youths, vandalized and money was demanded from the Bangladeshi tourist as he was thrown out of the car.
Police of Bishalgarh police station reached the spot and rescued all of them.
Speaking to the reporters, the Bangladeshi youth said, “The youths from another car intercepted us near Bishalgarh police station and created the entire chaos claiming that we used abusive words against them from the car that we didn’t do in reality”.
“The car that we took for rent was vandalized and we all were subjected to harassment while two of us among a total of six persons in the car were beaten up for no reason”, he alleged.
The Bangladeshi tourist complained about a horrible experience in Tripura although he visited here many times earlier.
