Agartala, Dec 24: Former Chief Minister and sitting MP Rajya Sabha Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday said he would kick-start a full-fledged campaign for the ensuing assembly polls with the same spirit he showed before 2018.
“As the winter session of the Parliament concluded, I will now reach out to the people like I did before 2018. We need Modi ji. Without Modi ji, there will be no opportunity for infrastructural development or educational development in Tripura. The people of Tripura will have no dream without Modi ji,” he said at a press conference.
As he announced the full-fledged election campaign from Sunday onwards, the former Chief Minister sought cooperation from the people.
Speaking to the media at his official residence, Deb spoke about the topics he highlighted in the House during the winter session.
“During the 13-day Session, discussion on Tripura took place almost every day which is a positive side. The discussion on Tripura’s Agar industry for around two and half hours is a reflection of the centre’s sincerity towards Tripura,” Deb told reporters.
In the Session, the MP raised important topics like setting up of ASI circle office in Tripura, re-opening of Border Haat, operationalization of Maitri Setu, Sonamura- Daudkandi waterway, Kailashahar airport and NEC’s share for Tripura.
In the press conference, Deb also said, the state saw huge success towards building Neshamukt Tripura. Citing a report presented by Home Minister Amit Shah in the House, Deb said Tripura’s success in the fight against drugs is in the top position.
