Kalyanpur April 22: With barely few days left for polling to the East Tripura (ST) Parliamentary Constituency seat, the ruling Saffron Camp has intensified its campaign across the East seat.
A large number of party activists and supporters owing allegiance to both BJP and its ally TIPRA Motha and IPFT took part in BJPs “Vijay Sankalp” Rally in Kalyanpur on Monday.
Addressing the program as a keynote speaker, former chief minister and incumbent Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb at first remembered the 26 residents of Kalyanpur who were brutally killed in 1996.
During the length of his discussion, Deb took a dig at the CPIM, claiming that it has lost its deposit in the state and finding no other way has joined hands with its all time rival, Congress.
“Thousands of Congress workers were mercilessly killed during the Communists’ tenure. How will they atone for this blood shed?” Deb asked the crowd to boycott the CPI-M Congress alliance.
Biplab Kumar Deb claimed that after the change of government for the past six years, the current state government is working to improve the socio-economic status of all sections of the people, including the unemployed youth, workers and farmers, but during the long left period, the communist leaders have never had any plan for the unemployed, workers or farmers of the state instead of politics.
He further added, “The Communists have been in power by misleading the common people, by doing politics of hatred and on the other hand Congress is maintaining its existence by joining with its rival”.
Deb recalled the gathering of the 2018 assembly elections, when people of Tripura threw away the 25-years long rule of CPI-M and established the BJP government in power.
“Similarly, this time too, you all must vote for BJP candidate, Kriti Singh Debbarma in the East Parliamentary Constituency so that the benefits of double- engine government continues to reach to you all”, he said.
State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee also addressed the gathering on this day. He also urged the voters to exercise their democratic right in favor of BJP candidate on April 26, next.
Meanwhile, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, who has been away from political activities for a long time due to a road accident also remained present at the rally in Kalyanpur despite illness.
Mandal president Jiban Debnath, TIPRA Motha leader Brishaketu Debbarma among others were present at this victory resolution rally in Kalyanpur.
