Biplab's proposal finds way, feasibility study initiated for 4 ropeway projects in Tripura

Agartala, July 03: In a significant boost to the state’s tourism sector, the Union Minister of state for road transport highways Harsh Malhotra has recently said that the union ministry has initiated the process of feasibility study and monitoring of ropeway projects in the state of Tripura as proposed by the former Chief Minister and presently the Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb.
In his letter to Biplab Kumar deb, the union minister Harsh Malhotra stated, “Detailed feasibility study for the ropeway project from Maharani to Chabimura has been initiated. The project will be taken up for further development based on the results of the study.”
“Pre-feasibility study has been initiated for the projects from Udaipur Railway Station to Matabari (Tripura Sundari Mandir), Surmacherra (Kamalpur) and Jampui Hills (Kanchanpur). The detailed study of these projects will be undertaken based on the results of pre-feasibility study,” the letter stated.
Former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb earlier on February 2 this year highlighted Tripura's proposed ropeway projects in the Rajya Sabha and sought the intervention of the Centre for early completion of the project work to boost the tourism sector of the state.
The Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited earlier on November 11, 2022 signed MoU with the National Highway Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) in Guwahati for laying ropeway from Udaipur Railway Station to Matabari, Maharani to Chiramura, Surmachera and Jampui Hills.
