Agartala, Aug 30: The opposition CPI-M state secretary Jitendra Choudhury on Wednesday blamed the BJP led coalition government in Tripura and alleged that after forming government in 2018 last, the BJP has brought disaster to the developmental pace of the Left front in Tripura.
Addressing the party’s poll campaign at Nadia in Dhanpur assembly constituency in the run up of bye-elections, Choudhury claimed that it was due to the struggle of Samar Chowdhury and Manik Sarkar like leaders that the people of Dhanpur had seen development. Despite their several efforts, the BJP could not establish its bastion in Dhanpur.
Choudhury underlined the 299 pre-poll promises of the BJP and said that the government had fooled the people of this state during the last five years in the name of their false promises. “The government completely failed to take their promises in action for the welfare of the people of this state,” he said.
He said, “The BJP failed to take lessons from the last assembly elections, where people of Tripura had shown their distrust towards the party.
He however believed that the people of Dhanpur will vote for the CPI-M in the upcoming bye elections to take a revenge against the false promises made to them by the BJP.
