Agartala July 14: Having been alleged by Tripura Pradesh Congress over the incident of attack and car vandalism at Bisramganj, Tripura BJP on Thursday ruled out the allegations adding that none of the miscreants named in the list of accused persons are associated with the ruling party.
Amid a press conference at the state party headquarters in Krishnanagar, state BJP Spokesperson Nabendu Bhattachajee slammed the Congress for blaming the BJP over the attack. He said, “There is no way of denying that the incident took place. But that doesn’t mean the attack was unleashed by the BJP party activists or members”.
“Former MLA Asish Kumar Saha himself contacted Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha about the incident and listed a few names involved claiming they belong to BJP. The CM himself inquired with the local leaders of the party in Bisramganj area and confirmed that the names given by Asish Kumar Saha are not connected with BJP in any way”, said Nabendu Bhattacharjee.
The spokesperson of Tripura BJP further took a dig at the opposition CPI-M for adding fuel to the fire and complying with the allegations put up by the Congress.
He further said this attempt of raising allegations by the Congress and CPI-M is nothing but to tarnish the image of the ruling party and to stop the growing developmental track in the state.
On being asked by the reporters about the arrest of culprits associated with the incident of attack and vandalism in Bisramganj on Wednesday, Bhattacharjee said the Police administration has all the information and they will take further action in this regard.
