Agartala, Feb 25: MP Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that the BJP-led government tremendously worked for women empowerment in Tripura and it would definitely reflect in the election results on March 2.
Speaking to the media, Deb said, earlier there was no discussion for increasing the salary of Asha/ Anganwadi workers and helpers. It is the BJP government that ensured the rights to them.
Besides, there are around 4.20 lakh women Self Help Group (SHG) members and the BJP government truly worked for women empowerment, he said, adding that the vote casting of the women was 3 per cent higher than the men in the assembly polls.
He also said, there are around 3.80 lakh new voters- it’s a trend across the country that the new voters are Modi supporters. All these are indications that BJP would form the government with a thumping majority.
In another note, Deb without naming Manik Sarkar said, the Chief Minister of 20 years doesn’t accept the CPM-Congress alliance; he calls it ‘seat adjustment’. Besides, a Congress observer announced the Chief Minister candidate from CPM.
“I never thought that the Communist party would face this misery in such a short period,” Deb said while interacting with the media at his official residence on Friday night.
They (CPM) should not instigate the people. The assembly polls are over; the CPM-Congress may prepare well for the next elections, he added.
