BJP thanks PM Modi, Union HM Amit Shah for standing by Tripura in flood crisis; CM Dr Manik Saha praised for relief efforts

Agartala, Aug 24: As the unprecedented flood situation in Tripura is gradually improving, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for standing by the flood-affected people during the time of crisis.
Addressing a press conference here at the party headquarter on Saturday, the BJP Pradesh spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty said, “The way the Central government under the leadership of PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah has come forward to rescue the flood affected people from the odd situation, we the BJP Pradesh committee thank PM Modi and Amit Shah. Responding to the appeal of the Tripura government and in view of the worsening flood situation the government at the Centre had approved Rs 40 crore for relief of the flood victims.”
“Apart from this we also thank the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha for his effortless drive in tackling the flood situation in Tripura,” he said, adding that the state of Tripura had witnessed unprecedented flood since August 19 and in this situation, the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and his team has not left no stone unturned to tackle the situation, following which the flood affected people are now able to come out of the odd situation.
He said, “From the very beginning since August 19 last, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha was closely monitoring the situation and he was in touch with the Central government for rescue and relief works.”
“We also thank the BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee for his drive of coordinating relief and rescue works by the BJP karyakartas. The party president had put necessary instructions to the party workers and accordingly our karyakartas had done a commendable job of standing by the flood victims,” he told reporters.
On the other hand, the BJP state general secretary Amit Rakshit told the reporters that as per the primary assessment the unprecedented flood in Tripura had incurred a loss amounting to Rs 5000 crore.
