Dharmanagar/ Kumarghat, Feb 20: State president of BJP, Rajib Bhattacharjee fired fresh salvos at the Opposing parties alleging that CPM is a party of violence while Congress is a 'goonda party'. He was interacting with the media in Dharmanagar on Monday.
In view of the recent post poll violence, Bhattacharjee embarked on district tour and reached Dharmanagar today. He held meetings with local leaders and activists and collect inputs relating to combating the violence.
The State president of BJP termed the February 16 Assembly polls as 'historic' as the elections were conducted fairly in peaceful manner without any untoward incident.
"However, after the polls were over, CPM and Congress are trying to disrupt the peace by creating disturbances and violence in the State", he commented.
Bhattacharjee added, Opposition created panick among the people a few days ago in Kumarghat, Charilam, Bishalgarh, Khowai and Mandwi by violence. He dubbed such efforts of the opposition as 'cowardly'.
He urged the BJP leaders and activists to stay vigilant against the instigation and aware people not to fall in the trap of the Opposition parties. Bhattacharjee added his district tour aims at thwarting bid to create disturbances and violence. .
Commenting on possible poll outcome, the State president asserted that BJP would return to the power for the second term in the State.
Later, Rajib Bhattacharjee went to Kumarghat and held meetings with the Unakoti district BJP leaders and supporters. He condemned the post poll violence allegedly launched by Congress and CPM.
Bhattacharjee warned the trouble makers to shun violence otherwise BJP activists would intervene to stop the violence.
