Agartala Sept 04: On behalf of the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (TPCC), Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress on Wednesday continued its attack on State Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das by showing him black flags.
State Youth Congress president Neel Kamal Saha led the protest as youth activists of the Congress party showed black flags to the minister in front of his official residence.
Talking to the reporters, Neel Kamal Saha, State Youth Congress president said, “The SC Welfare Minister has not only insulted the Hindus but has also tried to instigate them to take law in their own hands”
“The lines of Das’s post are enough to disturb the peace and harmony in the state and create communal tension”, he added.
Notably, after the incidents of Hindu idol vandalization incidents in Jirania subdivision, the BJP minister Sudhangshu Das in his Facebook Post wrote in Bengali, “I think Hindus have no moral right to worship their gods and goddesses, because a nation cannot save its idols and temples from the hands of infidel jihadists, who do not come forward to protest against the gross insult to their religion. Hindu temples are being vandalized and we are all doing politics by drinking the juice of secularism. Hindu, this is your shame, your ultimate failure.”
“Keep in mind that even after seeing the extreme humiliation of your religion, seeing the idols and temples of your idol being vandalized, if the blood in your body does not warm, if the language of protest does not wake up in your voice, assume that water is flowing in your body, not blood. Think outside of politics”, it read further.
However, he deleted it later following the growing controversy and demand of action against him from various sectors especially the opposition.
Meanwhile, Sudhangshu, who was on his way to the assembly, came out of his car and spoke to the protestors urging them not to ‘escalate the issue unnecessarily’ and tried to make them understand his point of view.
The Congress activists however, refused to silent the protests and stuck to the demand of legal action against the minister.
