BSF seizes used cell phones worth over Rs 42 lakh from B'desh border in Tripura

New Delhi, Mar 16: A "special ambush party" of the BSF recovered more than 180 used mobile phones valued at over Rs 42 lakh from the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura.
Personnel of the Border Security Force made the seizure during an anti-smuggling drive on Sunday, according to official sources.
Giving details of the operation, a BSF spokesperson said alert jawans of the border guarding forces noticed suspicious movement of five-six miscreants along the border in the Matinagar area of Sonamura in Sepahijala district of Tripura.
On being challenged by the BSF troops, the miscreants fled. A combing operation of the area led to the recovery of 187 used mobile phones of various brands worth Rs 42,10,400. The cell phones were later handed over to the Customs authorities, the spokesperson added.
