Buddha Purnima celebrated: Tripura CM says, unity in diversity is country’s heritage

Agartala, May 05: Unity in diversity is the universal heritage of our country. There are different religions, cultures and languages but we are one and united, said Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
Dr. Saha was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Buddha Purnima celebration at Venuvan Buddha Vihar, Kunjaban on Friday.
He said, Lord Buddha’s message of love, non-violence, peace and harmony would continue to enlighten us.
The Chief Minister said, initiatives like Buddha Purnima celebration strengthen the harmony and bond between different communities.
He assured that initiatives would be taken to develop the school and centre of Benuvan Vihar.
Among others, Vice-Chancellor of MBB University Dr. Satyadeo Poddar Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar- Swami Subhakarananda Maharaj and Director of Mahabodhi Overseas Centre of Atlanta, America- Niyani Rakhita were present.
The Chief Minister planted a Nageswar sapling and handed over prizes to the winners of sit and draw competition organized on the occasion of Buddha Purnima.
