Dharmanagar, June 22: District Magistrate Nagesh Kumar B held a press conference briefing the details of 57 Jubarajnagar seat, at Bir Bikram Institution in Dharmanagar on Wednesday.

Additional District Magistrate Jayanta Dey, North District Superintendent of Police Dr Kiran Kumar K and Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Returning Officer L Darlong remained present.

The DM said, “Eleven more documents besides voter ID would be acceptable for voting. There are 50 booth centers in 39 places. A total of 5 candidates are contesting in this center.

There will be paramilitary forces within 100 meters and TSR between 100 meters and 200 meters distance from the booths. Booth No. 42 of Tilthai will be run entirely by women”. The DM further added, 443 postal ballots were issued for June 17, 18 and 19. 427 electorates exercised their voting right at own homes.

Speaking about the security measures, the officials said, 5 Battalion paramilitary personnel have been deployed in this by-election. Each booth center will have 13 to 17 paramilitary, TSR and police personnel including polling staff.

Mentioning that there are two booth centers in eleven places, the officials urged upon all to come forward and cast their votes adding that the administration has taken all possible steps to make this by-election peaceful and successful.
