Agartala, Jan 12: Tripura's Chess prodigy Arshiya Das has been honoured with National Youth Icon Award.

Hi-Tech Group of Institutions has presented the award at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi on Sunday to mark National Youth Day.

Arshiya has been conferred the National Youth Icon Award in Sports category. She misses the event for a Chess tournament in Goa. On behalf of Arshiya, All India Chess Federation staff received the Award in the national capital.

The prestigious National Youth Icon Awards are presented to honour youth success in various fields. This year, 30 outstanding youths from across the country including Arshiya Das from Tripura have been given the honour.

Union Minister for Tribal Welfare Jual Oram and other dignitaries were present in the National Youth Day Award Ceremony.
