Agartala, Feb 07: The state committee of the Central trade union opposed the union budget and called it an anti-people and anti-development budget.
The CITU leaders led by the former ministers of the then Left front government Manik Dey and Pabitra Kar walked on a rally here at Agartala on Friday and flayed the budget.
Speaking to the reporters to oppose the budget, the CITU leaders alleged that the Central Government had aligned itself entirely with capitalists, stripping the common people of economic resources and handing them over to the rich.
They argued that the budget this year has deliberately ignored development and employment opportunities. Budgetary allocation has been reduced in the key service sectors including health and education, said Manik Dey.
