Agartala, Jul 10: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha inaugurated the newly installed PNG based firing system of Tea Processing 'Unit at Central-Tea Processing Factory and Durgabari Tea Workers Co-Op  Society Ltd at Durgabari near here on Sunday.

Tripura Tea Development Corporation Limited (TTDC) Chairman Santosh Saha, Local MLA Krishnadhan Das, Sila Das, Chairperson, Bamutia Panchayat Samiti, Gopal Chakraborty, Advisor of Durgabari Tea Workers Co-Cooperative Society Ltd and other were present in the inaugural programme. Saha presided over the programme. 

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said, his government has a plan to set up a centre for tea auction like other tea producing states like West Bengal. 

He said, “To insure tea produces here can be sell within the state through auction like West Bengal and other tea developing states, our government has plan to introduce a centre for tea auction within the state.”

Dr Saha also said that his government is thinking about exporting tea to neighbouring Bangladesh.
He also assured that the government is trying to increase the scope of employment generation in the tea production sector.
Saha called upon the tea estate administration to aware workers about the marketing strategy apart from tea production.
He appreciated the role of present managing body of Tripura Tea Development Corporation Limited for achieving significant success in the field as compared to previous managing body.
