Congress accuses JP Nadda of making False Promises

Agartala March 09: During a public gathering marking the second anniversary of the BJP-led government, BJP All India President JP Nadda made several promises to the people of the state. However, Pradesh Congress spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty and Youth Congress leader Shahjahan Islam alleged that these promises were false and unfulfilled.
They pointed out that the BJP government has not been able to fulfil its 2018 promises in the last seven years. Nadda's recent promises included providing a scooty to those who pass secondary school and a bond of Rs 50,000 for the birth of a girl child, which would amount to Rs 10 lakh after 18 years.
They compared this to the unfulfilled promise made during the Corona pandemic by the then Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who had said that the government would give Rs 10 lakh compensation to the families of those who died due to Corona. To date, no one from Tripura has received this compensation.
The Congress leaders also criticized the BJP's promise to provide smartphones to college students before the 2018 elections. They claimed that only a handful of students received four to five thousand rupees, which is insufficient to buy a smartphone.
They questioned how Nadda could promise a scooty when no one would get a license to drive it before 2018.
Furthermore, the Congress spokesperson highlighted that Nadda did not address the issues of government jobs or employment for the youth.
While Nadda claimed that crime had decreased by 30 percent in the state, the Congress leaders argued that crimes like kidnapping and violence against women continue to occur daily.
They accused BJP leaders and activists, including Panchayat Pradhan and their families, of being involved in these crimes, with the police remaining silent due to their affiliation with the ruling party.
Prabir Chakraborty also criticized the Chief Minister for repeatedly promising to punish the murderers of two journalists over the past seven years without any progress.
He noted that unemployment has increased by nine percent nationwide, but in Tripura, it has risen by fourteen and a half percent. The government has not provided any direction to reduce unemployment. According to the Congress leaders, JP Nadda's statements were merely empty words.
