Agartala May 19: A post-election review meeting was organized at the Pradesh Congress headquarters here on Friday that discussed the overall situation across the state after assembly elections with respect to the party’s stand.
TPCC president Brijit Sinha presided over the meeting in presence of Ex-MLA Asish Kumar Saha among others.
Speaking to the reporters TPCC president Brijit Sinha said, “The meeting with all the district presidents and leaders at various levels is to implement the various decisions taken by the party chief after a meeting at Udaipur in Rajasthan”.
“Within the next 10 days, all those organizational decisions will be implemented in the state according to the direction of the national leaders”, he added.
Sinha further said, “A detailed report has been made from information across the state regarding attacks on Congress leaders and workers by BJP backed miscreants that will be submitted to the senior police officials, governor, chief minister among others demanding immediate action against the culprits”.
“Although the chief minister has called for an end to ‘Mafiagiri’, the same hooliganism is going on across the state at various places along with forceful extortion of money”, he added.
Ex-MLA Asish Kumar Saha while speaking to the reporters strongly condemned the incidents of attacks on Congress activists and supporters.
Talking about the attack on 6-Agartala youth congress president Debasish Saha, Asish said, “Debashish’s house in Ujan Abhoynagar was attacked by BJP backed hoodlums. They vandalized the house, destroyed the household items and also beat up his father”.
Saha further slammed the role of police. He said, “Despite a report made to the police immediately after the attack, Police has failed to take any action against the culprits”.
The Congress leaders further expressed gratitude towards the people of Karnataka for electing the party to power.
