Agartala, July 15: With an increase in the number of Covid tests, the tally of positive cases is also going up in Tripura.

Even as the administration has already taken some steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the situation is gradually turning alarming.

As per the latest report, more 231 people have been infected in Tripura during the past 24 hours.

As many as 2161 samples have been tested for Covid in the past 24 hours till Friday morning. Among them, 231 samples have been tested positive-- 40 in RTPCR and 191 in Rapid Antigen Tests. The positivity rate is 10.64 per cent.

Out of the total 231 positive cases, West Tripura district contributed 142 cases alone followed by 38 in Sepahijala, 20 in Gomati, 11 in South Tripura, 13 in North Tripura, one in Khowai, two in Dhalai and four cases in Unakoti district.

The active case count has now increased to 808 while seven Covid-infected persons have recovered on Friday.
