Kailasahar, June 22: The CPI-M Kailasahar sub-divisional committee has taken to the field under the leadership of the MLA against corruption and nepotism in the block administration. The names of the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme in every Gram Panchayat area are not including the names of any poor religious minority Muslim family, alleged the CPI-M. The CPI (M) Kailasahar sub-divisional committee placed deputation to BDO Rameshwar Chakraborty of Gournagar block on the basis of three charter point demands including inclusion of the names of these families. The party's sub-divisional committee secretary Bishwarup Gosmami, MLA Mobaswar Ali, party leader Ranjit Debnath, Inuch Mian Khadim, Mominul Islam, Arunav Sarkar and Nachiketa Gosmami were present in the deputation on Wednesday afternoon.
The CPI-M leaders alleged, “The Prime Minister's Housing Scheme sanctioned 534 houses in Gournagar block. About 50 percent of the religious Muslim minority lives in this block area. However, out of 534 beneficiaries in the housing scheme, not a single poor Muslim family has been named. Liaquat Ali of the Irani gram panchayat was also on the NXR-D list but name of that family is not in the allotment list published by the block recently. Not only are the Irani panchayat but many religious minority poor families being deprived of houses in the list of many panchayats including Tilagaon, Srinathpur, Gaurnagar”.
Following all these, the CPI-M demanded that housing should be provided for all the families listed in the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme. Meanwhile, the Congress party has closed 10 Gram Panchayat offices in the block area. As a result, the rural people are facing various problems every day. According to the intellectuals, the block administration has to take immediate action to open these panchayats.
