CT Scan facility starts in Unakoti District Hospital

Kailasahar, July 09: For better health facility through advanced imaging technique of diagnosis, C T Scan service has been launched at Unakoti District Hospital in Bhagwan Nagar area of Kailasahar. The Director of Tripura National Health Mission, Dr Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal inaugurated the CT Scan service on Saturday. Apart from the Mission Director, the inaugural function was attended by Vice Chairman of Kailasahar Municipal Council Nitish Dey, eminent social worker Ranjan Sinha, Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital Somendra Debbarma and many others. The state health department has launched the service with the help of a private company, said Dr. Achintya Bhattacharya, the head of this private organization. He added the people of Kailasahar and the entire Unakoti district will get free CT scan service from this district hospital. Dr Achintya Bhattacharya added that it took more than a year to launch the service because of the coronavirus led pandemic. A total of 2250 people have undergone CT scan in the trial run since last May 28. This shows that there is a good response from the common people, said Dr. Achintya Bhattacharya.
However, the launch of CT Scan service in Unakoti District Hospital the result of a demand placed by the authorities and common people before former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Dev, while inspecting the medical services at Unakoti District Hospital in Kailasahar in August 2020.
