Agartala Jan 27: Grieving family members of a deceased housewife demanded strict legal action against the in-laws, strongly alleging that the husband was responsible for the tragic murder, and fervently approached the police on Monday.

According to details, on January 19, 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Sipai Para area under Lembucherra police station, where a housewife named Reshmi Debbarma, a mother of one child, was found hanging in her house. She collapsed on the way to the hospital and was pronounced dead by the doctors upon arrival.

The following day, a murder case was filed against her husband, Shailen Debbarma, by the family of the deceased woman.

Reportedly, Reshmi Debbarma was discovered hanging in her house and was rushed to the hospital, where it was initially reported that she had committed suicide. However, her family alleged that her husband was responsible for her death.

On Monday, the family of the deceased visited the Lembucherra police station and the Mohanpur SDPO’s Office to obtain the autopsy report and confronted the media.

They claimed that Reshmi's husband, Shailen Debbarma, was responsible for her death.

The family of the deceased demanded immediate arrest of the husband and a fair trial.

They warned that if the police were lax in handling the incident, they would stage protest by gheraoing the police station in the coming days.
