Teliamura, Nov 21: The body of a decayed new-born was discovered in the Khowai River near the Dashmighat Bridge in Teliamura on Thursday. A local fisherman, while fishing in the river, noticed the lifeless body and immediately informed the authorities. Fire service personnel, along with the police, quickly arrived at the scene to recover the body. The remains were then transported to the Teliamura Hospital morgue for post-mortem and further investigation.

The discovery has raised suspicions that the new-born may have been abandoned shortly after birth. It is believed that the child was possibly discarded in the river, with authorities suspecting the involvement of a woman attempting to conceal an unwanted pregnancy. The police are currently investigating the case, although the incident has left the local community in deep shock and concern.
