Delay in Central Lighthouse Project Dampens Hopes; Beneficiaries demand clarity

Agartala March 18: The Central Lighthouse Project, aimed at providing low-cost pucca houses to thousands of beneficiaries, has faced yet another hurdle, leaving recipients disappointed.

Despite high expectations, many eligible beneficiaries are yet to receive their promised houses. This ongoing delay has raised pressing questions about when their dream homes will finally become a reality.

On Tuesday, concerned beneficiaries gheraoed the Tripura Urban Development Authority (Tuda) officials, seeking answers about the prolonged delay.

Their demands for clarity and urgency highlighted the growing frustration among those awaiting the completion of their homes.

Speaking to the reporters one of the beneficiaries said, “We sold everything we had and invested it for getting a house under this Light House Project. But it seems that our money as well as our hope of a house all went in vain”.

Although in response, the officials once again assured that houses under the project would be handed over by the end of the year, the beneficiaries sought clear answers about the delay in delivery of the homes.

While reassurance provided a glimmer of hope, the affected recipients returned home still uncertain, trusting the promise of timely delivery.
