Agartala, June 28: The BJP sadar district committee on Friday organized a discussion programme on life of the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee here in the party office at Agartala.

Briefing about the programme the BJP sadar district committee president Ashim Bhattacharjee informed that the party has undertaken multiple proggrammes to mark the birth and death anniversary of Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee. During the period from June 23 till July 6 next, several programmes were taken up and as part of this the discussion programme was held here in the party office at Agartala on the life and ideology of Dr Shyamaprasad.

He further informed that the programmes will be held across the state. He said, “On remembrance of Dr Shyamaprasad, we have decided to distribute sweets and fruits to patients in different hospitals, while ‘Ek Ped Maa ke Naam’ campaign has also been taken up.”

BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee along with other party leaders and workers joined the discussion programme.
