Agartala Jan 29: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Takarjala, Tripura, is currently facing a health crisis as numerous students have fallen ill at the same time. The District Magistrate has responded promptly, issuing a show-cause notice to the principal to address the situation.
Details reveal that students living in the government hostel began experiencing stomach aches late Tuesday night, leading to urgent medical intervention. They were quickly transported to the Takarjala Community Health Centre for treatment.
In a move to ensure safety of the students, the show-cause notice issued by the District Magistrate seeks an explanation from the principal regarding the circumstances that led to the outbreak and the measures taken to address it.
When questioned about the situation, the principal remarked, "In my four years of service, nothing like this has happened before. I personally oversee everything here. Although the cause is still unknown, I am taking every necessary step to ensure the children's safety. We are washing all utensils, cleaning the kitchen, and testing the water. In the meantime, I have personally arranged for mineral water for the children until the test results are in."
He further added, "I will also ensure that students are not served food like chowmein or samosas and will provide them with fruits and milk instead."
Meanwhile, parents and the local community expressed serious concerns about the health and safety of the children demanding a proper investigation to prevent such incidents in the future.
