Agartala, July 08: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, who secured victory in recently concluded by-polls from Town Bordowali seat with a comfortable margin, was sworn-in as the Member of Legislative Assembly on Friday.

Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly Ratan Chakraborty administered the oath of office to Dr. Manik Saha.

The members of Tripura cabinet and Assembly including Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, party leaders and officials attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Speaking to the media, Dr. Saha said he is committed to take forward the state’s development process with all his colleagues in the assembly.

“I am sure that BJP along with alliance partner will form the government in 2023. The by-polls results showed that people are with us. BJP means development; we will continue to work for the development of the state,” Dr. Saha told the reporters. 

Replying to a question, he said, CPI-M is the main opponent of BJP as of now.
