Agartala Feb 12: Well aware of their failure in the ensuing elections, BJP has unleashed terror and violence across Tripura in a desperate bid to win polls, said AICC Spokesperson Alaka Lamba.
Addressing the press at Pradesh Congress Bhavan in Agartala, the former All India NSUI president Alaka Lamba said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fallen weak and has no chances of revival. Sensing the same one after another central leaders of the party including the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister have felt the importance of coming to Tripura leaving their original jobs”.
“People of Tripura too have realized that the BJP cannot give them anything except violence, terrorism, unprecedented hike of prices of essential commodities, crime against women and many others instead of development and that is why the BJP will be ousted from power in the ensuing polls”, she added.
Lamba further said, “Attack on Left and Congress candidates across different assembly constituencies of Tripura, obstruction in campaigning and vandalism shows that the BJP is living in extreme fear of losing power”.
Castigating the BJPs claims of ‘Development’, Alaka said, “Both the chief ministers of BJP in single term, Biplab Deb and Dr Manik Saha have no experience of administration. Earlier the BJP felt the need to change CM because of the failure of Biplab Deb and later Dr Manik Saha got to sit at the chair but still has no experience of running the state and that is the reason why ‘development’ is far away from the reach of Tripura”.
“The way Dhami lost in Uttarakhand, Dr Manik Saha will lose against Congress candidate Asish Kumar Saha in the forthcoming polls”, claimed the AICC Spokesperson.
The senior Congress leader further slammed the Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha over ‘winning the by-polls through massive poll-rigging’.
Taking about the promises made by Congress in its poll manifesto Alaka said, “LPG price reduction, Control of prices of essential commodities, implementation of Old pension scheme, jobs for 50,000 youths in state government departments, loans for unemployed and many more will be done for the overall welfare of common people”.
Remembering the death of Mujibur Islam, Lamba said, the government will stand beside all the families where political leaders and activists were murdered.
Further slamming the ‘double-engine’ BJP government, she said, “he way people ousted BJP from Himachal Pradesh, people of Tripura will oust the BJP from Tripura”.
