Teliamura, Nov 30: Residents of Mungiakami area of Teliamura blocked national highway on Thursday morning demanding drinking water.

 The residents said that they have been without drinking water for the past five days. They also claimed that they contacted the DWS department several times, but no action has been taken to resolve the issue.

The blockade caused traffic disruption in the area. SDPO Prasun Kanti Tripura rushed to the spot and spoke to the pump operators. He assured them that he will speak to the department soon and arrange for their salaries.

The pump operators agreed to start the pump after the SDPO's assurance. The residents then lifted the blockade.
