Teliamura, July 13: A large number of drivers of different vehicles on Wednesday blocked the road at Teliamura after the CNG station located at Hawaibari was shut for gas supply temporarily.

According to the agitated drivers, the concerned authority made them queued since Wednesday morning in the name of resuming the gas supply from the station, but later after they were refused, the drivers staged protest by blocking the road infront of the CNG station.

It was learned that some unemployed youths of Hawaibari area stopped gas service at CNG stations since morning demanding their employment. As a result, drivers who queued their vehicles since morning were refused with the gas supply.

Alarmed by the agitation, the Teliamura police rushed to the spot and sat for a series of discussions with the concerned authority of the CNG station and the agitated drivers.

Later the blockade was withdrawn after the CNG station resumed gas supply. On the other hand, the authority of the CNG station assured the agitating youths of getting them to meet with the Managing Director within the next few days regarding their demand for employment.
