Agartala March 23: In a heartfelt tribute to the indomitable spirit of freedom fighters and revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru on their 95th martyrdom anniversary, the DYFI Madhya Banamalipur Anchal Committee organized a voluntary blood donation camp in the Harijan Colony area of Agartala on Sunday.
The event witnessed participation and support from local CPIM leaders including Amal Chakraborty, Manik Dey among others.
Senior CPIM leader Manik Dey while talking to the reporters remembered the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the nation’s independence.
He strongly criticized the ruling BJP for organizing episodial attacks on the opposition since the day of its establishment in Tripura.
“BJP-backed hooligans attacked our party workers including CPIM West district Committee secretary Ratan Das at the Jaypur area in the city outskirt on Sunday. Our work is to raise voice against the wrongdoings of the government and for the welfare of the people. It was not even a protest yesterday but the ruling party led hooligans launched an attack”, he said.
Dey also raised allegations against the police for ‘playing the role of silent spectators’.
A good number of Left activists and supporters donated blood on this day.
