Fire at Capital City’s GB Bazaar; Electric Short Circuit blamed for damage

Agartala Jan 07: Tuesday afternoon a sudden fire broke out at Agartala’s GB Bazar causing significant damage to three shops. Among the affected shops, a fruit shop suffered complete destruction.
According to reports, the flames were first noticed in the fruit shop around midday. Firefighters were promptly informed, and three fire engines were dispatched to the scene.
The firefighters managed to bring the fire under control within half an hour, preventing it from spreading further.
The fruit shop, specifically, was entirely destroyed while other two shops sustained damage, but the extent was not severe.
Firefighters concluded that an electrical short circuit was the likely cause of the fire. However, the exact origin of the electrical fault remains under investigation.
A local businessman mentioned that it was difficult to pinpoint how the fire started, though he confirmed the damage to the shops.
