Kailasahar, July 06: Massive protest of students rocked the streets of Kailasahar on Wednesday demanding recruitment of adequate school teachers and principal. The students of Tilla Bazar Twelfth Standard School in Kailashahar blocked the road in protest, burnt tires and raised loud slogans.
According to the students, their school was converted into BBSE after which they have to pay annual fees of Rs 1,040 but still their learning process is disrupted because of lack of teachers and principal.
OC of Iranian Police Station Jahangir Hossain with a large police force rushed to the spot. Fire Brigade personnel also hurried from Kailashahar fire department but the students prevented them from putting out the fire. Shortly afterwards, students of Tilabazar Class XII School came to Tilabazar market and protested by blocking three main roads in the market. Following the massive protest of the students, Kartik Debbarma, in-charge of Kailasahar district education department, and Abdul Ghani, an official of the IS office, came to spot and listened to the students demands.
After getting specific assurances from the officials the students finally lifted the blockade.
