Flood victims receive help from Rotary Club of Agartala City

Agartala Aug 22: As the flood situation in Tripura has reached a critical stage with incessant showers from the past four days, thousands of people have taken refuge in relief camps. Embankment walls along rivers have breached due to heavy water pressure, flooding habitations and towns.
In this grim situation, Rotary Club of Agartala City along with its two sponsored Rotaract Clubs; RAC Agartala Central and RAC Agartala City is working to provide comfort and support to those in need.
The members of the Club distributed dry food items such as bread, biscuits, bananas, puffed rice, milk, sugar and drinking water in two relief camps in Agartala.
The club authorities asserted this as a challenging situation and are working closely with the local administration to provide relief.
Nearly 400 people affected by the floods were helped so far by providing food, relief supplies.
The Rotary Club of Agartala City is also planning to conduct free health camps in the second phase of the relief work.
Also, additional necessary support will be provided to the needy on the severity of the crisis.
